The Study on the Informations and the Practices of a Tuberclosis for the Tuberclosis Pulmonary Patients¢¥ Families at Some Public Health Center in Seoul


Abstract
This paper is the study on the answers of the 159 persons who are the representatives of the 159 families of the tuberculosis patients registered with one public health center in Seoul. The questions of the answers have the purpose to investigate the informations and the practices for the remedy and the prevention of a tuberclosis The followings are the results analyzied the answers which are made through visiting the houses by the trained interviewees from April 12th, 1982 to June 26th, 1982.
1. The case of the acquirements of the informations and the related things for the tuberclosis
1) The informations from the patient among the family is 37. 1% and through the nurse¢¥s interview is 17.6%.
2) The case of consulting after the patient among the family occurred is 40.9%.
3) The rate of the satisfaction at the interview is 18.7%.
2. Theinformation and the practices to the prevention.
1) The only 60.4% of the answers know that the tuberclosis is infectious disease.
2) In the information of the sputum treatments the only 64. 1% of the answers know it as a mean of preventing against infections. The 30. 2% know that the sputum treatments must be destroied by fire, and the 23. 95o know that it may be dumped in a dustbin. In the practice the 15. 1% of the answers destroy it by fire and the 34.6% dump in a dustbin.
3) In the informations of the contacts with the patient the 35.2% of the answers know that the patient is to be isolated because of the infectiousness. In the practice the 85.5% live with the patient.
4) In the information of the necessity for the chest examination (X-ray) to the adults, the 72.3% of the answers response that it is necessary and 28.3% know the frequency of it and the 41.5% took the chest examination (X-ray) before the patient is occurred and the 58.5% after the patient is occurred.
5) The 43.4% of the answers know that the tuberculin test is the method to confirm the children¢¥s contamination and the corresponding rates practice the tuberculin test.
6) In the information of B.C.G. Vaccination the 60.4% .know it and the 43.4%-have the infants inoculated and the rate of the practice is 29.6% and is lower than that of information.
3. The information for the remedy
1) In the investigation of the most important method to grasp the processing of treatments the 42. 1% of the answers area X-ray and a sputum examination and the 24.5% is the physicians¢¥ diagnosis and the 21.4¡Æn is the symptoms of the patient.
2) The 66.061 of the answers reply that to take the medicine regularly and sufficiently is the most method for curing the tuberclosis.
3) The 37.3% of the answers reply that they take the medicine over one year and the only 12.6% they take the medicine for two years. In the managements of tuberclosis of the answers, comparing the information of the protection, the remedy and the practice with the variable such as the degree of education, the present situation of disease, the moment of recognition of tuberclosis the sex distinction and the age, the differences in the information and the practice are shown by the variables of education and the age but are not shown by the others. And the differences in the practices are shown minutely by the degree of education, but are not shown obviously by the moment of recognition of tuberclosis, and the present situation of disease.
